The A1000 plant growth chamber offers the unique ability to adapt to four different research applications in an economical equipment platform. The base chamber itself can be fitted with one of four specially configured kits, and each kit is specifically designed for a particular application including: Plant Growth, Arabidopsis, Tissue Culture, and Incubation. By varying the configuration of the airflow, light, and shelving, each kit defines one of the four applications. The A1000 is also available with several options such as phenolic coated coils and network communication. The phenolic coated coils enable the A1000 to be used for entomology research while the communications option facilitates connection to a facility’s local area network.

The ATC40 employs a top-mounted refrigeration system. This design minimizes the product footprint, accommodates servicing from the front of the chamber, and simplifies on-site installation. Using two shelves, each with 32 inches (800 mm) of growth height, the ATC40 offers nearly 40 ft2 (3.7 m2) of growth area and accommodates medium to large size plants. This combination of features provides an excellent product for growing Arabidopsis from seed to full maturity, as well as other taller, medium-light plant species. The BDR16 is designed for high-end plant physiology research where tight performance is critical to ensure a consistent plant canopy temperature throughout the chamber. To achieve tight performance, this unit employs a constant temperature lamp bank, cooled by the refrigeration system, which results in a constant light intensity output regardless of operating temperature. E8

The E8 is a highly customizable plant growth chamber capable of achieving extreme conditions of temperature, lighting levels, and humidity. The product is well suited for research applications requiring a high level of control in a relatively small footprint. In addition to customizable environmental control parameters, options are also available for growth height, gas levels, and a variety of refrigeration configurations. The E7/2 offers two independently controlled growth areas in a single unit making this model ideally suited for applications where smaller experiments need to be conducted in different environments, all in a small footprint. A simple conversion alters the chamber’s configuration to either a double or triple tier configuration with medium light intensity and horizontal airflow. In a footprint slightly larger than 21.5 ft2 (2 m2), the FLEX provides either 19 ft2 (1.8 m2), 38 ft2 (3.6 m2), or 57 ft2 (5.2 m2) of growth area with corresponding growth heights of 59.75" (1520 mm), 25" (635 mm), and 14" (355 mm), respectively. The G1000 is specifically designed for consistent, uniform seed germination. To accommodate a wide range of seed types the G1000 features a temperature range from +4°C to +40°C – the lower temperatures being advantageous for prechilling to overcome dormancy. The high humidity of the unit (up to 98%) ensures adequate moisture is available for seeds, while the horizontal airflow design ensures excellent temperature and humidity uniformity throughout the growing area. The user adjustable fan speed further enhances airflow control. Externally mounted cool white fluorescent lights enable equivalent light intensities at all temperature ranges for more consistent germination. While the small 29.2ft3 (836l) footprint is ideal for labs where space is limited. The BDW series walk-in chamber is based on a modular platform available in increments of 40 ft2 (3.7 m2). These units offer a precise chamber environment typical of research involving C4 high-light plants grown to maturity. Unique to this product is the top-down airflow pattern which ensures consistent plant canopy temperatures throughout the chamber. Spectral aluminum on the interior walls produces exceptional light uniformity, while the discreet lamp loft area uses a separate cooling system to mitigate heat produced by the lighting system.

Conviron’s MTPS provides a multi-tier chamber based on a modular platform and is available in increments of 72 ft2 (6.6 m2). This chamber configuration is often used for research involving C3 and similar low light, short plants. TCR

The TCR walk-in room provides a multi-tier modular platform available in increments of 60ft2 (5.6m2). This makes the TCR chamber suitable for research involving plant tissue culture and is often used within large micropropagation programs. The solid side wall plenums transfer air to individual air shelves ensuring upward airflow from each individual shelf, which is essential in mitigating condensation within media dishes.

DR

Conviron’s DR Series dew rooms are uniquely designed for testing in a high (100% RH) humidity, or ‘saturated’ or ‘mist’, environment. A typical application in plant pathology, for example, is the testing of plants infected with disease where the high humidity promotes disease propagation. Dew rooms provide horizontal airflow with air discharge via a perforated side wall plenum. Lighting on the standard configuration is for visibility purposes only. To achieve the high humidity levels, the system employs (pre-coil) primary spray nozzles, which spray continuously, as well as a (post-coil) secondary cycling spray nozzles programmed by the user. Stainless steel is used on the interior for corrosion prevention.

GR

The GR series of walk-in rooms, available in six standard sizes, is a highly economical platform for providing a controlled environment in a walk-in configuration. This series of chamber offers low to moderate level light intensities using multiple light canopies. The temperature range is narrower than on other Conviron walk-in chambers which affords greater energy efficiency and economy. The multi-lamp-canopy configuration enables researchers to have several experiments running simultaneously with plants at varying levels of maturity.

The PGW40 equips the researcher with a walk-in environment accessible from two large doors on the front of the chamber. This model is ideally suited for research involving taller classified plants. The extended growth height ensures that most plants can be grown to full maturity within a moderate to high light regime. Also available with the PGW40 are low-temp options for running the chamber at temperatures below the standard 4˚C. A defrost option is also available which prevents a temperature rise during the defrost cycle.
